2019 was a really incredible year for us at Cogo Labs! We're taking a look at the top five moments of 2019 to reflect on some of the amazing highlights and milestones we accomplished this year.

  1. Cogo Labs named one of Boston Business Journals' "Best Places to Work" (Mid-sized companies).
Boston Business Journal's Best Places To Work Award Ceremony

This award is given yearly to companies that "have built outstanding work environments for their employees." This accomplishment is confirmation of all of the exceptional work that has been done here at Cogo to maintain a collaborative, inclusive, and passionate work environment. At Cogo, we attribute our success to all of the fantastic people we work with every day. Our leaders and teammates across the company have been the driving force for cultivating a culture of highly engaged, thoughtful, and inclusive employees. It's truly the people that make Cogo the best place to work!

We're so excited about the future of Cogo and the addition of more amazing employees as we continue to grow.

2. Link Ventures Raising LV2 Funding.

Link Ventures, our parent venture capital firm, received more than $100 million in capital commitments for their LV2 (Link Ventures 2) fund. Link Ventures is dedicated to investing in early-stage consumer startup companies, much like those we build here at Cogo. We're incredibly excited to see what companies will join their impressive portfolio in 2020! You can find the fund announcement here.

3. Minerva Analytics Spinning out

Minerva Analytics Team in April 2019

In early April of 2019 Minerva Analytics (link) officially launched out of our incubator. Founders Brendan Mahoney (President & CEO), Brian Frake (Manager, Product Analytics), Nate Reznicek (Director, Traffic Analytics), P.K. Considine (Senior DevOps Engineer), and Connor Taylor (Manager, Product Engineering), began at Cogo in early 2017. Minerva Analytics prides itself on producing scalable, content-driven websites, and applications built on 5+ years of market data and user research. With ambitious goals in the new year, we can't wait to see what Minerva does next!

4. Marching in Boston pride

Boston Pride 2019

As Cogo continues to make huge strides towards becoming more equitable, diverse, and inclusive, we walked the walk this year as Cogo Spectra. Our LGBTQ+ employee resource group sponsored and marched in Boston Pride and it was awesome. Upholding their mission of "welcoming all who welcome all," over 50 allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community represented the Cogo family in Pride this year. At 90+ members strong and growing consistently, Cogo Spectra has a lot more planned for 2020 for the whole Boston community!
